He was born December 24, 1920 in Wetzel County, a son of the late Ray and Verchie Carpenter. Clyde was employed by the W.Va. State Road Department, was a member of the Limestone United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Howard. Surviving are a sister, Helen M. Little, Weirton, W.Va.; a niece, Norma Jean Higginbotham, Ephrata, Pa.; a nephew, Carl F. Goddard, E. Springfield, Ohio. Visitation Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. at the Iams Funeral Home, New Martinsville, W.Va. where services will be held Thursday 11 a.m. with Pastor Bill Stokes officiating. Interment in Northview Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Open Door Ministries of New Martinsville or to the Limestone United Methodist Church.
